How to choose a web designer in the UK
Questions to ask before you hire: process, ownership, SEO, and the red flags in UK web design quotes.
Ask who does the work
If you cannot tell whether a senior person or a junior mill will design your site, wait until you can. Ostech is a small company. You talk to the people who ship.
Ask who owns the site
You should own the domain, the hosting account, and the codebase or CMS. If a designer will only rent you a site on their account, you are a hostage.
Ask how they treat search
You want titles, headings, internal links, a sitemap, schema where it helps, and copy written for the phrases you can actually rank for. You do not want anyone promising #1 in two weeks.
Ask for a scope, not a vibe
Pages, forms, languages, redirects, and what happens after launch. A beautiful moodboard without a page list is how projects drift.
Questions
Should I only hire someone in my city?
Hire for judgement and communication. Ostech works fully remotely with clients across the UK, so you are not paying travel. Meet on a call before you decide.
