How long does it take to build a website?

Realistic UK timelines for a five-page site, a rebuild, and an app v1, and what slows projects down.

Typical Ostech timelines

A starter marketing site is often two to four weeks if content arrives on time. A business site with several services is four to eight. Ecommerce depends on the catalogue. A focused app is usually a number of months, not days.

What actually causes delay

Photographs that do not exist, copy nobody will approve, and a domain or hosting login that is still with a cousin. We put those on the first call so they are not a surprise in week three.

Questions

Can you do something in a week?

A very small site, if you already have copy and images. We would rather be honest than heroic.
